Milestones

Hi from Augsburg, it's been a while since I've update the blog and thought I would let you know about a few milestones that we have achieve in the last little while.

The biggest one for me is that I am now officially allowed to drive in germany for the rest of my life! I passed my german drivers theory test in German. And then two weeks later I passed the practical driving test. Yahooo. Now Wayne just has to do his theory test before his licence will be converted.

We have founded a band called Soul Flavour check out the website www.soulflavour.de. We play soul and acoustic pop/rock covers. We have about 20 songs so far and will be ready to perform in a month.

I have also been doing a bit more casual work as a promoter/hostess, while wayne has been busy getting a grip on the German language. Another milestone is that we have our first step towards planting a church. We have started a homegroup and we meet every thursday. Yahh.

I love spring!

Springtime is my favourite time of year. Especially in Europe. It is just so beautiful and so refreshing after a long winter. Wayne and I haven't felt warm weather like this in a long time. So much sunshine it's glorious.

Last week at the tradefair went well. I enjoyed working with a lovely team and even made new friends. I just about died after the first 2 days though, I didn't have the right kind of shoes. On the 2nd day I had to buy some comfortable shoes and it made a huge difference. I'm not used to being on my feet 9-10 hours a day.

First day on the job!

All this week I am working at IFAT a trade fair for water, sewerage, rubbish, and recycling, not the most exciting topic, but in the end it doesn't really matter when you are working as a hostess. So I have to say felt a little bit like my mum (who is flight hostess), walking around asking people if they would like a drink etc.. The most challenging part was being asked to translate between german and english, both ways, didn't really work too well, I don't really know much about water control systems. Oh well, we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
